Problem

For Exchange collections, if the mailbox or exchange server cannot be seen, or Clearwell is having difficulty collecting from Exchange, follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue. Continue in order until the issue has been resolved.

Solution

To Troubleshoot Exchange Collections Permission Issues:

1. Download Active Directory explorer (AD explorer) from Microsoft® Sysinternals™

2. Launch AD explorer, and run it as the ESAApplicationService account. You should be able to see the Exchange server and mailboxes in the AD Forest.

3. Make sure the esapstcrawler and the esapstretriever services are stopped, then launch Outlook from the Clearwell appliance.  Log on as the Exchange Server Source Account found in the Data Map. Specify the mailbox and Exchange Server name. You should now be able to open the mailbox.

4. Check the security settings for the mailbox. The security settings may be preventing mailbox access.
