Problem
Unable to initialize a disk using vxdisksetup. vxdisk init works.
Error
VxVM vxdisksetup ERROR V-5-2-43 c3t50060E8006D2D521d35: Invalid disk device for vxdisksetup
Environment
SF 5.1SP1RP1, Solaris 10
Solaris patch:147440-20 or higher is installed.
Cause
Known issue in SF 5.1 SP1 RP1 Solaris 10. After applying SUN patch 147440-20, vxdisksetup does not work.
Solution
For Storage Foundation version 5.1 releases the fix is available in the form of a Hotfix in VxVM 5.1SP1RP2P3HF5 or later. The General Availability (GA) fix is targeted to be included in 5.1SP1RP3 release.
For Storage Foundation version 6.0 releases the fix is available in the form of a Hotfix in VxVM 6.0RP1HF2.
For Storage Foundation 6.0.1 release, the fix is available in the form of a hotfix in VxVM 6.0.1HF2.
