Issue



P2V conversion fails when a Shared folder is specified for the Destination Drive or path in the "Convert to Virtual Options Environment options". Figure 1 and Figure 2.

Environment



Backup Exec 2012

P2V Hyper-V Virtual Machine to target folder that is a user share.

 


Cause



User shares are selectable in both the warm and cold conversion options.

 


Solution



This issue has been Resolved in a newer version of Backup Exec. To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec. 

 

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions. 

 

 

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.

WORKAROUND:

Select the Drive letter and folder for the P2V target destination and not the Share Name.
