Symantec Management Agent (SMA) - Failed to copy ' Symantec Management Agent Install service'

Issue



Unable to push the SMA through the Symantec Management Console. The 'Status' of the install is showing 'Failed to copy 'Symantec Management Agent install service'.

Failed to copy 'Symantec Management Agent install service


Environment



SMP 7.1 SP1


Cause



Attempted to install the SMA by use an Application Credentials Account in a target computer (workgroup) that is not member of the Domain.
 


Solution



Use the local administrator account (user and password) for push the SMA. On the 'Install Agent' page, select the target computer and then click on "settings". It will display the "Symantec Management Installation Option". Select the "Use the following admin account instead of application credentials".
