Problem
Remote Agent for Macintosh (RAMS) is crashing at random intervals during backups. The agent crash is inconsistent (i.e. can occur after 200MB or after 7TB of data has been backed up).
Error
V-79-57344-65297 - The Linux or Unix resource is not responding. Backup set canceled.
Final error: 0xe000ff11 - A communications failure has occurred with a Linux or Unix resource.

Environment
Mac OSX 10.6.4 - 10.6.8
Solution
Workaround:
Use the Backup Exec 2010 R3 Macintosh Agent. Customers should contact Symantec Technical Support for assistance in implementing the temporary workaround.
