Software removed from managed computer still shows in Inv_AddRemoveProgram table of the CMDB_Database

Customer notes that after removing a program from a managed client computer, using add remove programs, and then running a new full inventory, the software still shows up in the Inv_AddRemoveProgram table of the Symantec_CMDB database.


Solution



This is working by design. 

Software listed in Add Remove Programs control panel on a client computer, once inventoried, has a corresponding record in the Inv_AddRemoveProgram table, with the InstallFlag column is set to 1.

Later, after a program is uninstalled using the Add Remove Programs control panel on the client computer and after a full software inventory is run, the corresponding record in the Inv_AddRemoveProgram table may still exist with the InstallFlag column is set to 0.  However, the software should no longer appear in the Add Remove Programs section of the Resource Manager, Software Summary.

Note: The same behavior also occurs with the Inv_InstalledSoftware table.
