Error E98F0032 when attempting to mount recovery point when source volume is 1TB or larger with Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2011
The same recovery point can be opened using the Granular Restore Option (GRO). However, an error is seen when attempting to expand the file system of this large volume (Figure 2).
The following workaround has been seen to work for some customers:
- Ensure that the software is on the latest service pack.
- Access the computer's services console.
- Locate and start the Generic Mount Helper service. Ensure the service is running.
- Attempt once again to mount the image file.
A supported hotfix has been made available for this issue. Please contact Symantec Technical Support to obtain this fix. This hotfix has not yet gone through any extensive Q&A testing. Consequently, if you are not adversely affected by this problem and have a satisfactory temporary workaround in place, we recommend that you wait for the public release of this hotfix.
Cannot mount recovery point or open in GRO when source volume is 1TB or more.
