The "View Notifications" link on the Home page of the v12.1 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) does not work in the Java Remote Console

Problem
The "View Notifications" link on the Home page of the v12.1 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) does not work in the Java Remote Console. No errors are displayed.
Cause
This issue is caused by default settings in Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, and Internet Explorer 9. By default, the option "Allow status bar updates via script" is disabled on some Microsoft operating systems. This causes the "View Notification" window to not display.
Solution
Set the Internet Explorer option "Allow status bar updates via script" to Enable by following the steps below.
- Press Alt on the keyboard
- Click Tools > Internet Options
- Click Security > Internet > Custom level...
- Set Allow status bar updates via script to Enable
- Click OK > OK
