Issue



When viewing tapes or media from the Storage tab the Capacity or used Capacity is incorrectly reported (Figure 1).  When clicking on the Media properties the Media Statistics also report the incorrect used capacity (Figure 2).

Environment



Backup Exec 2012

 


Cause



Media statistics are improperly reported in the Backup Exec GUI.

 


Solution



This issue has been Resolved in a newer version of Backup Exec. To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec

 

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions. 

 

 

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.

Workaround:

View the Backup Set on the tape to determine an estimate of the data\backup sets on the tape (Figure 3).
