Problem
Duplicate client entries are seen in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) for SEP clients, which are hosted on Microsoft Hyper-V guest virtual machines (VMs) after upgrading to 12.1 Release Update 2 (RU2).
Environment
Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines
Cause
The clients have not been upgraded to 12.1 RU2.
Solution
Prevention:
Upgrade the SEP clients running on Microsoft Hyper-V guests to 12.1 RU1 MP1 prior to migrating them to 12.1 RU2.
Post migration clean-up:
Upgrade all clients hosted on Microsoft Hyper-V guest VMs to 12.1 RU2 and manually remove or wait for any duplicated entries in the SEPM to reach their age limit.
