Issue

When you try to use Email enrollment and want to enroll a user you receive the error: The user account you have entered has been disabled on the Universal Server. Contact your security Administrator For more information.

Solution

This error occurs if you are using email enrollment and have the directory synchronization enabled on the PGP Universal Server. Please disable the directory synchronization.

Follow these steps to disable the directory synchronization:

1. Log in to the PGP Universal Server.

2.  Go to Consumers > Directory Synchronization in the administrative interface. The Directory Synchronization page appears.

3. Click the Disable button.

4. Then re-enroll the user again.

NOTE:  If you actually intended to use LDAP enrollment (which requires directory synchronization), it is possible that you have set up the directory synchronization but not enabled the use of it.  To check if this is the case, in the PGP Univseral Server web interface go to:
Consumers> Directory Synchronization> Settings (button at bottom of page)
Ensure that the “Enroll clients using directory authentication” option is checked if you are trying to use LDAP enrollment.
