Technical Solution

This issue occurs while creating a volume with more than 256 disks. This happens because the license provider check limits the maximum number of disks allowed per volume to 256, regardless of the volume layout. Note that this limit is imposed to control the maximum number of records (such as plex, subdisk, disks, volume, RVG) that gets stored on private region per disk group (maximum limit for this is 2922 records).
