Problem

When attempting to restore Exchange data to PST, a message is received indicating that Outlook must be installed on the target server, despite the fact that Outlook is installed on the target server.

Error

Final error: 0xe00003c4 - To redirect Exchange mailboxes to PST files, Outlook 2003 or later and the Backup Exec Agent for Windows must be installed on the server to which you are redirecting the restore. Outlook 2010 requires the default 32-bit installation.

Cause

Backup Exec improperly checks for Outlook on both the Media Server and the target server.

Solution

Workaround:

Install a supported version of Outlook 2003 or better on the Backup Exec Media server and on the server used as the target destination.
