After updating PGP Universal Server to version 3.2.1 MP4 with the PUP update file, the build number shown in System -> General Settings is not updated.
PGP Universal Server 3.2.1 Maintenance Pack 4 (MP4) addresses compatibility issues between the latest versions of Mac OS X (10.8.x) and PGP Desktop.
The MP4 PUP update file available on Symantec Fileconnect is a 'Lite' version of the PUP file. A PUP Lite file is a client upgrade and contains only the updated version of PGP Desktop for Mac OS X. A PUP Lite file can be recognized by:
- name - the lite package contains "PGPDesktop" in the filename
- size - the lite package is about 370 MB large, while a full package has a size of approximately 820 MB
When the PUP Lite packages are uploaded to the PGP Universal Server and installed, the build version displayed on the server does not change. However, the PGP Desktop client files are updated to the new version included in the PUP Lite file.
If you'd like to upgrade your server to PGP Universal Server version 3.2.1 MP4, you need to upgrade to version 3.2.1 MP3 prior to upgrading to 3.2.1 MP4. Then upload and install 3.2.1 MP4 to include version 10.2.1 MP4 of PGP Desktop.
The current version available which includes the full update package is PGP Universal Server is 3.3.0.
