Technical Solution


When performing a restore of a SQL database that was backed up with a VSS Snapshot the restore may not attach the database to the SQL Server if "Leave the database nonoperational; additional transaction logs or differential backups can be restored" is selected. 


This issue only occurs when the backup used snapshot technology for the SQL backup.



A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.
