Problem

Pointfix for the following issues:

• When creating a new folder, policy or task, there is a long delay before the item is displayed in the tree and the user regains control of the console.

• Activity Center takes extra 20-30 seconds to load if last page visited was Manage>Jobs and Tasks

Solution

These issues have been reported to Symantec Developement team. A permanent fixes will be provided in the ITMS 7.5 release.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Installed ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1

HOW TO INSTALL THIS POINTFIX

Files included:

ActivityCenter_x64.msi
ActivityCenterLanguages_x64.msi

1. Uninstall the current msi

a. Explore to: Program Files>Altiris>Symantec Installation Manager>Installs>Altiris

b. Right Click “altiris_activitycenter_7_1_sp2_mp1_x64.msi” > choose “Uninstall”

2. Install Pointfix msi

a. Open a DOS window & navigate to where the new msi resides.

b. Run the command: msiexec /i <msi_name> skipaim=1 /qb

Note: the "ActivityCenterLanguages_x64.msi" is completaly optional and it is not required for the proper functionality of this pointfix. There were not changes on the Language pack that are required for this pointfix. It is provided just as part of the build process. If you are interested in installing it and you have already the Activity Center Language pack for the base 7.1 SP2 MP1, follow the same steps as above (just replace the MSI name).
