Problem
'Copy File' tasks will not overwrite files that are already present on the destination system.
Error
The 'copy file' task reports a failure.
Environment
DS 7.1 SP2 MP1 build 7858
Cause
The issue is being investigated by development
Solution
Symantec is working on a resolution for this issue in rollup v3 due out 1st quarter 2013.
Workaround: Turn on debuglogs in the registry of the affected systems.
Add a string value registry key named 'debuglogs' to the following location:
HKLM\software\altiris\deployment
Put a windows path as the value. E.g. c:\logs (the directory will be created automatically)
The reason why this 'workaround' works is because this appears to be a timing issue. Turning on debug logging 'slows down' the task enough that it works properly.
