An error 0xe000a207 occurs when performing a manual disaster recovery using a full backup set of a domain controller. This error occurs soon after the restore job starts.

Backup Exec 2012

 


Solution



A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

 

 

Backup Exec 2012 Rev 1798 Service Pack 3 (TECH205351).

 

 

WORKAROUND:

Please perform 1 or 2 below.
 


1. Use SDR (Simplified Disaster Recovery) to recover the server.



2. Back up C drive and System State after unchecking the following 2 options, and restore the backup set. 
 


   "Use Backup Exec Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) to enable the restore of individual objects from Active Directory backups"


   "Perform consistency check before backup when using Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshot provider"
 


NOTE: If an error 0xe000848c occurs during restoration, please retry to restore after changing "Primary DNS suffix of this computer" to your domain name.
