Unable to Install PGP Desktop Client on Windows System

When trying to install a PGP Desktop 10.2.1 MP3 client on a Windows system, you receive a number of different errors each time.
Even though the system is newly installed, an enterprise operating system image may have software that is not compatible with PGP Desktop. The most common software that create problems are antivirus e.g. McAfee, Sophos and other management software.
Use the following to troubleshoot the installation of PGP Desktop.
Check if the disk is fragmented using a disk defragment software such as the Disk Defragmenter included with Windows.
Check the disk status and health of the system disk using the chkdsk utility
Used without parameters, chkdsk displays the status of the disk in the current drive.
drive : -- Specifies the drive that you want chkdsk to check.
/p -- Performs an exhaustive check even if the drive is not marked for chkdsk to run. This parameter does not make any changes to the drive.
/r -- Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information.
Note: The chkdsk command requires the file Autochk.exe. If it cannot find it in the startup directory (\%systemroot%\System32), it will attempt to locate it on the Windows Installation CD. If you have a multiboot computer, be sure you are issuing this command from the drive containing Windows.
Temporarily disable any antivirus software on the system.
To disable McAfee Antivirus:
1. Double-click the M icon in the Windows System Tray.
2. Click Navigation and select the Real-Time Scanning link.
3. Click Turn OFF.
Note: The Turn OFF button will be available only when Real-Time Scanning is on.
4.Return to the main SecurityCenter page and verify that Real-Time Scanning remains off
5. Select the Firewall link and then click Turn OFF.
6. Close McAfee SecurityCenter.
