How is Smart Functionality contained on smart devices treated with Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control?
The smart functionality contained on smart devices causes Windows to list them as two separate devices. One of the drives is a read–only CD drive and the other is used as a storage medium. Such devices usually launch an executable of their own upon insertion which can serve various functions such as requiring the user to authenticate or presenting a proprietary navigational interface. Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control offers the option to prevent smart devices from launching their executables upon insertion.
