Solution



This notice serves as notice that Clearwell eDiscovery Platform releases v7.1.3 and later will no longer be certified or supported on the Windows Server 2003 family of operating systems (including Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, both Standard and Enterprise editions). Customers running the Clearwell eDiscovery Platform on these operating systems are encouraged to upgrade to a supported operating system. The Clearwell eDiscovery Platform release v7.1.2 will be the last release certified and supported on the Windows Server 2003 operating system.

Support for the Clearwell eDiscovery platform will continue to be delivered on both the Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems, both Standard and Enterprise editions.  Support and certification on the Windows Server 2003 family of operating systems is being discontinued due to an incompatibility with a series of third party products which are scheduled to be updated in our 7.1.3 release, scheduled for release in the first half of 2013.

Please note that at this time, operation on Windows Server 2012 is neither certified nor supported. 

Operating system upgrades are not included under support and maintenance agreements with Symantec.  It is the responsibility of customers to procure and upgrade their operating system to Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, Standard or Enterprise edition.
If you choose not to update your operating system, you acknowledge that your system cannot be upgraded beyond the 7.1.2 release, and that certain product enhancements and bug fixes will not be available to you.  

Please note that Microsoft mainstream support for Windows Server 2003 has ended on July 13, 2010, and the product is currently in the extended phase of support, ending July 15, 2015.
