Problem
How to upgrade a dynamic disk group to a cluster disk group in VERITAS Volume Manager (tm) 3.x for Windows 2000 or VERITAS Storage Foundation (tm) 4.x for Windows
Solution
To upgrade an existing dynamic disk group (DDG) to a
cluster disk group (CDG) to work with either Microsoft Clustering Service (MSCS)
or VERITAS Cluster Service (tm), perform the following operation:
1. Deport the DDG. Right-click on the DDG and select Deport Dynamic Disk Group (Figure 1)

2. Navigate to Start > Run. In the "Open:" box, type
CMD and click OK
3. At the command prompt, type:
vxdg import -g<DynamicDiskGroupName> -n<ClusterDiskGroupName> -s (Figure 2). The -s switch imports the disk group as a cluster disk group.

4. Check to ensure the cluster disk group is created by
viewing its entry in the Volume Manager display (Figure 3)

5. Right click on the newly upgraded CDG and select
Properties. The type should display as "Dynamic (Cluster)" (Figure
4)
