Problem

When editing an asset such as a computer, the Asset Status is changed, such as to Retired. The Manufacturer or Cost Center fields are then changed too. The page refreshes, and the Asset Status reverts back to Active or its previous state.

Environment

Asset Management/CMDB Solution 7.1 SP2 MP1

Cause

Defect, Etracks 3010381 and 3021924.

Solution

This issue is being investigated by Symantec and will be resolved in a future version of Asset and CMDB Solutions.

The workaround is to save the asset's status change, then re-edit the resource. Changing fields that refresh the window will then not reset the status.
