Issue

Asset import jobs for Oracle assets on UNIX platform fail when ‘su’ functionality is disabled in UNIX environment.

Error

'.../bin/su permission denied' and 'incorrect password error'

Environment

This issue was observed in a UNIX environment where the ‘su’ functionality was disabled.

Cause

When the 'Establish connection' credentials and the 'Perform data collection' credentials are different for a given asset, CCS invokes su to the collection-based user before starting data collection. This is not required if both the credentials are same. The logic was present in CCS Unix data colletor but not for CCS Oracle data collector. Control Compliance Suite Quick Fix QF10105 includes this logic for CCS Oracle data collector.

Solution

Apply Control Compliance Suite Quick Fix QF10105 to resolve this issue.

NOTE: Before you apply Quick Fix 10105, ensure that you have installed Symantec Control Compliance Suite v11.SCU 2012-3
