DAgent doesn't run on some Cisco blades

Technical Solution



 Some Cisco blades, particularly M3 and newer, cannot run DAgent. DAgent fails, and may give an error (see below).


 "The exception unknown software exception (0x000000d) occurred in the application at location 0x8006369f. Click on OK to terminate the program."

This is one example, other errors may be caused by this issue.


 Deployment Server 6.9 SP5 MR2 or earlier

Windows environment (including WinPE)


The DAgent is programmed to read in information from the BIOS, but these Cisco blades formatted a particular table differently than DAgent expected.


 DAgent has been fixed to properly handle the change in the BIOS, this fixed DAgent will be included in DS 6.9 SP5 MR3. If the fixed DAgent is required before the release of MR3, contact support.
