What's New in Symantec Mail Security 7.0 for Microsoft Exchange
7.0.1 -- Build 7.0.1.66
- Console now saves the last Exchange server or server group used and defaults to that server or group when relaunching the console.
- Improved debug logging for powershell commands issued by the SMSMSE installer.
- Improved debug logging for the SAVFMSESJM.exe process.
- Improved debug logging for the SMSUtilityService.exe process.
- Enumeration of the mail store can now be disabled if not needed. See 'How to adjust scheduled enumeration of the Exchange information store with Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE) 7.0.1 and later.' for details.
- SMSMSE now supports installation on remote servers running Server 2012.

- Significantly improved content filtering performance (up to 2.2 times faster).
- Improved Manual and Scheduled scan performance when deployed on Exchange 2010 and 2012.
- Support for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
- Advanced antivirus heuristic scanning.
- New action available: Quarantine Entire Message.
- New content filtering Data Loss Prevention templates.
- New content filtering option to scan any message part within a single rule.
- When an item is unscannable due to a malformed container detection, SMSMSE now writes the container name to the application event log entry for that detection.
Operating System support
• Mail Security V7.0 supports Microsoft Exchange 2013, 2010 and 2007.
• Mail Security V7.0 does not support Exchange Server 2003.
• Mail Security does not support Veritas Cluster Server on Microsoft Exchange 2010 and 2013.
• If you use LiveUpdate Administrator (LUA) to push definitions to Mail Security Servers, then please include the following product "Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange 7.0" to your product list in the LiveUpdate Administrator console.
• Mail Security V7.0 console is supported on Windows8 and Windows Server 2012.
• Remote install on Server 2012 is supported on version 7.0.1 and later.
