Issue



When Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 (SEP) and M-Files 9 document management software are installed on the same computer, M-Files 9 does not load properly in Windows Explorer. When SEP's AutoProtect feature is disabled, this issue does not occur.

Cause



There is a compatibility issue between M-Files 9 and SEP 12.1.2's AutoProtect feature.


Solution



This compatibility issue has been resolved by direct interaction between the Symantec and M-Files support teams. Updating to M-Files version 9.0.3372.41 or later resolves the problem. Any M-Files user that is experiencing this issue can get the update from the M-Files website at http://www.m-files.com/download, or it can be obtained by contacting M-Files support directly at support@m-files.com.
