Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP8 MP1 File Drop 2
| Article:TECH200348 | | | Created: 2012-11-30 | | | Updated: 2012-11-30 | | | Article URL http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH200348 |
Problem
This update addresses two specific issues:
- The appstream driver can interrupt an application that performs a single-byte write of 0x5f to the first byte of a file. The appstream driver returns success to the writer, but does not write the data to file.
- The streaming client ignores the Group Policy setting for 'Package Server Assignment List'.
Cause
- The write operation is interrupted because the AppStream driver performs a partial match based on the write length when comparing the AppStream signature. This behavior has been modified to require a complete match of the signature instead of a partial match.
- Package migration only occurred under specific conditions. This behavior has been modified to force package migration in all cases.
Solution
Install the updated client appropriate to your platform and reboot.
Note: This update is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply this update only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. This update might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update, Symantec Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP8 MP2, that will contain these fixes.
