Problem
To ensure that VERITAS NetBackup for Informix uses the correct configuration settings, create a bp.conf file in the Informix user $HOME directory.
Solution
If the Informix user account is the account with Database Administrator ( DBA) privileges, the bp.conf file should be created in the Informix user home directory. If an account other than Informix has DBA privileges, the bp.conf file should be created in the home directory of that account.
The location of this file is in the home directory of the user defined by environment variable "LOGNAME".
If LOGNAME is not set, the root is used and therefore the master bp.conf of the client is used.
If LOGNAME is set, then the Informix agent looks in that user's home directory for a bp.conf.
The NetBackup for Informix System Administrators Guide is confusing in its statement "Create a $INFORMIXDIR/bp.conf File on the Client" Sometimes INFORMIXDIR is the home directory for the Informix user, but not always.
