"Windows ERROR:5; Access is denied" error while collecting from a network share in Clearwell

Issue



During a Clearwell (CW) network share collection a "Windows ERROR:5"; Access is denied" error is presented.


Error



"Windows ERROR:5; Access is denied"


Cause



The Clearwell source account used to access the share lacks proper permissions to the network share location.


Solution



1. Verify NTFS / permissions for the source account have Read and Write permissions on the network share directory.

2. Verify the system time on the Clearwell appliance and the network share server is not more than 10 seconds apart.

Note: This will involve syncing the Clearwell server and/or network file server with the official domain time.
