The Public Folder Archive Task fails to process Public Folder targets if the FixOrphanedShortcut registry value is set

Technical Solution



The Public Folder Archive Task may fail to process Public Folder targets when the FixOrphanedShortcut registry value is set on the Enterprise Vault server.  A dtrace of the PublicFolderTask process shows the output in the Error field below.

The FixOrphanedShortcut registry value is not used with Public Folder archiving.  A change introduced in 9.0 SP4 Cumulative Hotfix 2 has therefore removed the check for this value in the Public Folder Archiving code.
