2048 bit certificates on HID Crescendo 700 smart cards generating "The application returned status 0x80000001 in state AUTH_STATE_TOKEN. Please restart your computer." error message on Preboot Authentication with SEE Full Disk. 1024 bit certificates are work absolutely fine at SEE Full Disk PBA.

HID Crescendo 700 smart cards.

Hardware:
* Dell E6400 (most common system)
* Dell Latitude E6500, E6410, & E6420
* Dell Precision M6500 & M6510

Middleware: SafeSign 3.0.33 & 3.0.4 tested.


Cause



Symantec Endpoint Encryption Full Disk incompatibility to read 2048 bit certificates on HID Crescendo 700 smart cards during Preboot Authentication.


Solution



Resolved in Symantec Endpoint Encryption Full Disk v8.2.1 MP4 and above versions.
