In some cases ,when a snapshot job is canceled the snapshot process will continue on the client.

Problem
When cancelling a VMware backup, bpbrm terminates before confirming bpfis has removed snapshots. bpfis continues to run and create snapshots although they will not be needed nor used.
Error
No error is observed; however, running bpfis processes may be seen on the system long after backup jobs have been cancelled. These unnecessary processes may continue to consume system resources.
Environment
This issue has been reported with the following versions of NetBackup for VMware:
- 7.5.0.3
- 7.5.0.4
Cause
The two daemons are failing to properly communicate before the backup is cancelled, leaving bpfis running when it should not be running.
Solution
The formal resolution for this issue (Etrack 2897225) is included in the following release:
- NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 5 (7.5.0.5)

Please apply the hotfix attached to this document.
