Technical Solution

Under specific conditions bpverify can fail with a status 191. The conditions are:

1) Media server reading the backup image must be different than master server (i.e. a network socket connection between bptm and bpbrm)

2) Media server must be unix.

3) Client must be unix.

4) A filename in the backup selection must contain an unprintable character, such as "^M" (control-M).

failed, the database contains conflicting or erroneous entries.

There is a bug in NetBackup causing unprintable characters to be stripped from the tar datastream when transferred over the network.
