During policy based backups of Exchange, bengine.exe may crash on kernel32.dll

During policy based backups of Exchange data with GRT enabled the Backup Exec Job Engine (bengine.exe) may crash with following error.
Application Error 1000
Faulting application bengine.exe, version 13.0.5204.128, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.4480, fault address 0x0000bef7.
Workaround: Disable GRT for Exchange backups
