Problem
Backup Exec backup operation of VmWare or Hyper-V virtual machines fails and there is an error stating the the virtual machine was powered off.
Error
V-79-57344-38733 - Virtual machine "MACHINE" has been excluded from the backup because it must be powered on to back up.
Solution
Backup Exec has the ability to back up virtual machines that are powered off.
