How to downgrade a Symantec Endpoint Protection client to a previous version

Problem
A client needs to be downgraded from a newer version of Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) to an older version.
Solution
In order to move from a newer version of SEP to an older version, uninstall the new version and install the older version. There is no supported method to migrate from a newer to an older version.
