Problem
After a successfully reported Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013 backup the Windows event message below occurs and the Exchange transaction logs were not purged / truncated.
Error
Category: Exchange VSS Writer
Event ID: 9782
Description: Exchange VSS Writer (instance <GUID>) has unsuccessfully completed the backup of storage group <STORAGE GROUP NAME>. No log files have been truncated for this storage group.

Solution
This issue is fixed in Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013. SP1 is available on LiveUpdate.
