VCS 6.0.2 running on Linux within a VMware ESX environment

This problem can manfiest under a number of situations:

  1. The ESX hostname or IP address is not valid or accessible
  2. The specified username/password credentials are not valid
  3. SELinux (Security Enhanced Linux) is preventing correct execution on the VCS nodes (running in VMware guests). If this is the issue, then messages will appear in /var/log/messages on the VCS node similar to the following:

Jan 30 12:02:01 rhel58-01 setroubleshoot: SELinux is preventing discFinder from loading /opt/VRTSvcs/lib/ which requires  relocation. For complete SELinux messages. run sealert -l 396d94cd-5647-42d0-bfe5-95a35e1e5014

1) Supply the correct hostname/IP address of the ESX hosts

2) Supply the correct username and password for the ESX host

3) Disable SE linux on the VCS nodes
