Problem
The New Partition wizard can only enumerate the first Windows partition, in mounted LUN volumes with multiple partitions.
Environment
Enterprise Vault (EV) installed as a clustered application in a Microsoft Failover Cluster using iSCSI or SAS mounted LUNs as shared storage
EV 9.0.x & EV 10.0.x
Windows 2008 Server
Cause
Enterprise Vault implements Microsoft Cluster API calls via ClusterResourceControl.
The query issued by the wizard results in an incorrect interpretation of the drive letter for the mounted partitions to be enumerated.
Solution
This issue is resolved in the following release:
Enterprise Vault 9.0.4 Cumulative Hotfix 4 Release
http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH204589
Enterprise Vault 10.x
Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.
Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here.
Workaround
The iSCSI mounted volumes should contain a single Windows partition.
