Technical Solution


 The following scan tasks never finish on Japanese OS.

- Full scan for viruses and security risks
- Quick scan for viruses and security risks


 Altiris Product Version: 

- Symantec Management Platform 7.1 SP2 MP1.1(7.1.8401)
- Symantec Endpoint Protection Integration Component 7.1 SP2(7.1.1037)
Client Operation System:
- Microsoft Windows 7 (Japanese)
  On the internal test environment, the following is used.
  - Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 (Japanese)
NS Operating System: 
- Windows 2008 R2 64bit


This issue has been reported to our Symantec Development team. A fix should be provided in a later release.
Current workaround:
  1. Back up EndpointProtectionIntegration_Tasks.config on the following directory.

    C:\Program Files\Altiris\EndpointProtectionIntegration\Config\
  2. Replace EndpointProtectionIntegration_Tasks.config with the attched workaround_EndpointProtectionIntegration_Tasks.config.
  3. Run AeXConfig.exe as follows.

    "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\bin\AeXConfig.exe" /configure "C:\Program Files\Altiris\EndpointProtectionIntegration\Config\EndpointProtectionIntegration.config"
