Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager could not update Centralized Reputation Settings 12.1

Issue



The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) shows that LiveUpdate was successful but says "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager could not update Centralized Reputation Settings 12.1".

You may also see Event Viewer warnings with the same information.


Error



The Log.LiveUpdate file shows the following errors (snippet):

Unknown function name GetSiloID was used

PreCondition evaluation aborted with error code 5

Aborted patch with EES code: LU1849; Product: SEPM Iron Settings v12.1

 

In the SEPM under Admin -> Servers -> Local Site you see the following entry in the mini log section on the bottom-right. This mini log only shows the last 10 Server Activity entries.

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager could not update Centralized Reputation Settings 12.1 <RU version>.

 

You can view a more expansive list of the SEPM logs by going to Monitors -> Logs and selecting Log Type: "System" and Log Content: "Server Activity" and hitting the View Log button. Here you'll see the same error as listed above.


Solution



This issue has been resolved in the latest definitions.
