Backup of virtual guest in VMware environment fails.

 


Error



'V-79-57344-38264- Unable to copy the virtual machine disk using the VMware VixDiskLib'.

Environment



ESX 4.1


Cause



ESX was not deleting the snapshots after completion.


Solution



-Check for old snapsnots that are not deleted on the vCenter server.

-Delete the snapshot in the vCenter.
-Run a manual snapshot in vCenter successfully.
-Run backup jobs as usual and monitor.
