Issue



"Your mailbox is not associated with a vault" when viewing the "Vaults" tab under "Vault Cache Properties" in Outlook Navigation Pane.


Error



 

 

 


Cause



 

Below URL browsed from the client returns the below output:

 

http://EVServername/EnterpriseVault/ListArchives.aspx

 

The returned XML shows the following:

 

  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <MDCSyncResponse hr="0" msg="SUCCESS">
- <ListArchivesResponse>
- <Archives Date="1291281771">
  </Archives>
  </ListArchivesResponse>
  </MDCSyncResponse>

 

This may occur if :-

 

  • The EnterpriseVault virtual directory in IIS has "ASP.NET Impersonation" set to Disabled.
  • The EnterpriseVault virtual directory in IIS has "Anonymous Authentication" set to Enabled.

 


Solution



Following response should be seen when access list archives from the client:

  <Archive ArchiveName="TEST" Structured="1" IndexingLevel="2" VaultEntryId="16D2D123A8924567D88DC31C8B05ED7890110000ev1" PrivateVisible="0" Type="9" WebAppURL="http://evservername/EnterpriseVault" />
  </Archives>
  </ListArchivesResponse>
  </MDCSyncResponse>

 

Make sure the "ASP.NET Impersonation" is set to enabled and "Anonymous Authentication" is set to disabled.

Perform a IIS reset on the changes are made on the Backup Server.
