Issue



When attempting to restore an individual mailbox from a GRT backup set, the Backup Exec Remote Agent crashes on the Backup Exec Media Server.


Error



Connection to the restore target has been lost. Operation canceled.

Final error: 0xe000ff12 - A communications failure has occurred with an Exchange Store resource


Cause



There are bad properties on one of the mailboxes attempting to be restore.  This issue has been observed in Exchange Databases where other mailbox restores did not fail or cause the crash.


Solution



 A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Documents at the end of this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

 Backup Exec 2012 Rev 1798 Service Pack 3 (TECH205351).
