Below is a list of the Backup Exec functions and utilities that BEMCLI does not support in Backup Exec 2012, but does support in Backup Exec 2014 and later versions:

- Submit adhoc verify/duplicate jobs
- Create/Retreive/Update/Delete NDMP servers
- Include/Exclude for NDMP resources
- Reset cleaning statistics for tape library devices
- Reset IO parameters for tape drive devices
- Detect new storage arrays, virtual disks and physical disks
- Have file system archive jobs
- Restore and delete of file system archive
- Create/Retrieve/Update/Delete preferred server groups
- Display installed Hot Fixes and Service Packs
- Job retargeting
- Full system restores
- Utility partition backups and restores
- Microsoft SharePoint restores
- Microsoft SQL Server restores
- Mirosoft Exchange DAG backups and restores
- Oracle backups and restores
- Lotus Domino backups and restores
- Enterprise Vault backups and restores
- VMWare backups and restores
- Hyper-V backups and restores
- Linux backups and restores
- Mac backups and restores


Solution



This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions. 

All agent selection types supported for backup jobs (including virtual machines)

To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec

 

NOTE:   Symantec continues to focus on the current release and future releases, there are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time. WORKAROUND

Use the Backup Exec Administration Console for those functions and utilities.
