Problem
When the resources are created using the receiving console screen there are no entries added in the resource update summary table for serial number, barcode, or manufacturer. This makes it so that the merge does not see the data classes on the merge.
Environment
Barcode Solution 6.6, 6.6 SP1, 6.6 SP2
Cause
When the resources are created using the receiving console screen, there are no entries added in the resource update summary table for serial number, barcode, or manufacturer.
Solution
Attached is an .exe that will add the entries into the resource update summary table as a workaround for Barcode Solution 6.6.
This issue is also resolved in Barcode 6.7 SP1 and Barcode Solution 7.x and does need to have the hotfix applied with those versions. Note: If 6.x is upgraded to 6.7 SP1, Barcode Manager, on the handheld device, also needs to be updated for all changes to take effect.
Additional Troubleshooting
If applying the hotfix or upgrading Barcode Solution doesn't resolve the issue, this may be a related by different issue, documented here:
Barcode field data may be lost after Inventory to Asset Synchronization and Duplicate Computer Merge
