BUG REPORT: Incorect error message when maximum value of backups configured on Symantec Encryption Management Server (formerly PGP Universal Server) is less than 5

When configuring backup settings to store less than 5 backups to the backup location that Symantec Encryption Management Server (formerly PGP Universal Server) is using to backup to you receive an error.


In the Administration logs:

omf.properties - ovid.backup.display.max invalid value!, defaulting to 25


PGP Universal Server 3.0 to 3.2.1 and Symantec Encryption Management Server 3.3.0


Bug in the code used to configure the maximum backups and report an error if it's misconfigured


Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version or Maintenance Pack of the product.  Please be sure to refer back to this document periodically as any changes to the status of the issue will be reflected here.
You can configure the server to store more than 5 backups or else safely ignore the error message.
