Issue

The following warning can be seen in the SharePoint Archiving Task report file for shortcut items that have been moved between SharePoint folders.

*** Warning ***  Updated shortcutted list item was not archived because the shortcut's archive folder VEID does not match the current archive folder.

The reports are located in the <Install_Path>\Enterprise Vault\Reports\SharePoint Archiving folder by default.

Error

"Updated shortcutted list item was not archived because the shortcut's archive folder VEID does not match the current archive folder."

Cause

The reason for this warning is that the item does not reside in the original folder from which it was archived.  There is data within the file that points to the original folder and EV will not create a shortcut if the current folder is not the same.
