No tiles on the Start screen are displayed after a manual disaster recovery on a remote Windows 2012 server even though the server is rebooted. The issue occurs only when the 'Restore over existing files' option is selected at the 'How do you want to maintain file integrity and hierarchy for the restored data?' window on the Restore Wizard panel.
Log off and log into the server after a disaster recovery
Log off from the server before performing a restore operation for a disaster recovery
